Caciqueband was established in 1989 and since that time the band has blossomed to become a vibrant twelve piece unit.
Caciqueband is perhaps one of the most popular and frequently heard Latin American Band in Melbourne. Their enthusiasm, their powerful performances are driven by their musical talent and the natural power of youth is one of the essential key to their success. On Stage, they are more than just a performance, their performances a musical celebration and this is clearly communicated to their devoted, energetic audience. All the members of the band are involved in the local music scene on many levels of performance.
Caciqueband have performed frequently at most leading festivals in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. They specialised in music from South, North, and Central America and the main rhythms employed in their performances are Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue and Chacha. Caciqueband recorded its first album in 1994 titled “Fiesta” under the new market music label.
Followed by a compilation album in 1996 titled “La Familia” under the tropical Latin record label.
In 1997 Caciqueband produced another album titled “Nadie como tu” under the Mabuhay music of the world label in which was also release in Europe and the UK. In 1998 Caciqueband took part in another compilation album titled “La Familia 2” under the tropical Latin music label.

“PELIGRO” was created and introduced in Melbourne, Australia by JULIO PEREIRA. He was born in El Salvador and commonly known by the public as “El Rey”. Peligro’s first gig was in November 2001 at the “Next Blue” venue in the “Crown Casino complex” with the hottest Latin rhythms such as: Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, and last but not least the sexiest Latin tune to hit all of Latin America which is Reggaeton. Peligro was the first Latin band who introduced the reggaeton to our shores with song such as: Dile (Otra noche) & La Gasolina! The band consists of 14 professional musicians which is made up of a 5 piece Brass Section and 5 piece Rhythm section consisting of 3 percussionists, pianist and base and 4 vocalists. Peligro over the years has evolved by the publics view as “The Hottest Latin Show In Melbourne” and continues to dominate the Latin market with their excellent choreography & up-beat rhythms special “MERENGUE Swing” with The Guira and Tambora.

La Mezcla offers a 12 piece band; down to variations of 8 to 6 piece depending on the occasion. La Mezcla performs in both Spanish and English; mixing new music with the favourite traditional latin numbers; while salsa is their speciality.
